Entre agricultura y migración: hacia la construcción del desarrollo local en espacios rurales

Abstract

En el contexto de procesos de desarrollo local en espacios rurales, el objetivo del presente trabajo es dar cuenta sobre la importancia que pueden tener las articulaciones ocurridas entre los flujos migratorios internacionales, el uso de remesas y la modernización de la agricultura en un ejido del noroeste michoacano. A través del estudio de caso se muestra que no obstante las adversidades del entorno económico e institucional de los últimos tiempos, mediante el uso de remesas en inversiones productivas y una buena organización socioespacial es posible alcanzar la modernización agrícola y lograr articular la construcción de proyectos de desarrollo local.
