El Indice de Marginacion del Conapo tranformado en indicador cardinal: 50 anos de marginacion comparada en el tiempo

Abstract

Demostrar que el Indice de Marginacion (IM) calculado mediante analisis de componentes principales (CP) puede expresarse en terminos cardinales. Recuperar los valores del IM para las entidades federativas desde 1970. Se normaliza el IM a partir de los conceptos de marginacion nula y marginacion absoluta y se comprueba que esa transformacion verifica el postulado de homogeneidad. Se estima el IM por CP para el periodo 1970-2020. El IM normalizado es cardinal en terminos de las carencias observadas para las comparaciones inter-territoriales. La marginacion tiende a reducirse a lo largo del tiempo. Se comprueba que el IM no permite realizar comparaciones inter-temporales estrictas al estimarlo por CP o por el metodo de distancia de Pena (DP2). Las comparaciones interanuales son solo aproximadas. En contra de lo que afirman estudios previos, se demuestra que la tecnica de CP puede generar un IM cardinal. El IM calculado por CP es util para realizar comparaciones cardinales inter-territoriales e inter-temporales, incluso a largo plazo.
