Abstract

The task that I assigned it to evoke the '60s and awareness on the part of many, and of Ezio Tarantelli in particular, the serious social problems that the country lived without being able to solve them in an appropriate manner or without postponing deal. It is no accident that a historian like Guido Crainz (2003) or as an economist Michele Salvati (2000) speak of a missed country or missed opportunities; earlier, this expression had been used by Ciocca, Filosa and Rey (1975 ). My choice, however, is due to the fact that my relationship with Ezio concentrated in the second five years of the 60s when we were both at the Research Department of the Bank of Italy, I continuously until the early months of 1969 and Ezio ... occasionally! The entrance to the Bank remained for some years nominal, since he decided to make investments in their human capital: he had a will of iron, a clear vision of the objectives he wanted to achieve, an absolute determination in achieving them.
