Abstract

[eng] This paper provides information on the road network, the road management system and the road financing system in Russia. A brief analysis of the Russian Road Funds at the federal and regional levels is being carried out, indicating the progress that has been made in this sector in the past four years (e.g., improvement of tax collection, simplification of flow of funds, clarification of road expenditures). The study of the Russian road system is particularly important when considering the huge needs of the country in terms of rehabilitation and maintenance of the federal and regional highway networks.
