Abstract

[eng] The linearity of the factor price frontier . . This article is devoted to a central point of the Samuelson-Garegnani controversy about the a factor-price frontier». According to P. A. Samuelson (1962), it is possible to provide microeconomic foundations of Solow's production function, at least in the case of heterogeneous capitals model « of the linear program-ming type ».. Garegnani (1970) réfutes this statement asserting that it requires homogeneous capital and product.. We demonstrate, in this article, that Garegnani s condition is sufficient, but not necessary, and, accordingly, that his criticism of Samuelson's theory is incomplète. In the same way, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for frontier-price factor to be a straight Une.
