L'éthique et les échanges agro-alimentaires: principes et réalités

Abstract

L'Organisation internationale du commerce de produits agricoles et alimentaires est-elle conforme à l'éthique, en particulier aux principes d'équité, de liberté, de loyauté et d'impartialité ? Les accords internationaux se réfèrent bien à des principes éthiques, comme le montrent diverses clauses du GATT. Mais au-delà des mots et des intentions, le système des accords donne la priorité à la croissance et aux échanges par rapport à la justice, et à l'éthique en général. Le risque de voir dériver des arguments éthiques vers des barrières non tarifaires existe, mais l'adhésion des citoyens nécessite plus d'éthique dans les fondements et plus d'impartialité dans les procédures internationales.
