Abstract

[eng] Trade in agricultural products between West African countries is important, in spite of the little attention paid to it by national statistics. As can be seen in the case of Niger and Nigeria, the dynamics of trade are mainly due to the inconsistencies between the economic policies of the different states, particularly because of differences in the monetary systems. Through informal markets, the agricultural policies of sub-region countries have become interdependent and a certain degree of regional integration is being achieved.
