Abstract

[eng] The analysis of changes in the price of land over the last 30 years, at the departmental level, must be principally linked to the transformation of landownership relations and to the evolution of systems of production. The decline of the large landholding in the West, the resurgence of peasant landholdings and of mixed farming-livestock raising in the South-West, the development of grain producing areas in the periphery of Bassin Parisien, the crises of livestock raising in the West and Middle West, are among the factors which enable us to understand the contrasted changes in the prices of land during the period 1955-1985. [fre] L'analyse au niveau départemental de l'évolution du prix de la terre depuis 30 ans doit être reliée principalement à la transformation des rapports fonciers et à l'évolution des systèmes de production. Le déclin de la grande propriété foncière dans l'Ouest, le renforcement de la propriété paysanne et des systèmes de polyculture-élevage dans le Sud-Ouest, le développement des superficies en céréales sur le pourtour du Bassin Parisien, la crise de l'élevage dans l'Ouest et le Centre-Ouest, sont autant de facteurs qui nous permettent de comprendre les évolutions contrastées du prix des terres au cours de la période 1955-1985.
