Abstract

[eng] Four major changes may be singled out to describe recent changes in US rural and farm population and employment. After a long term decline, rural population has risen. The attrition of population living on farms has become quite limited. This so called farm population derives a major and growing share of its ressources from non agricultural sources. The share of wage workers in the farm labour force increases slowly.
