Abstract

. Classification JEL : O12, M14, 053. [eng] The French groups and the emerging markets . Today, emerging markets contribute up to 60% of Lafarge’s profits. Thirty years ago, the group was at 90% french and north-american. Bruno Lafont, Chairman, analyses the reasons - market based economies, rule of law, strong growth...- at the heart of this transformation and that made Lafarge able to accelerate its growth. He dwells upon the fact that the emerging countries have common but also specific features. Accordingly, Lafarge rests strongly on local human resources and tries everywhere to become a local actor, integrated in the society. . Classification JEL : O12, M14, 053.
