Abstract

. Classification JEL : G22, G34 [eng] Captives were created until 1970’ s and were imagined to optimize risks management of great industrial, financial or insurance firms. After taking lots of initiatives and capturing a large growing part of worldwide insurance premiums, doubt and stabilization came. Captives had to evolve into less favourable contexts and their development came up against serious problems. Today, challenges of their risks management became so determining for firms that captives can play a great role in the implementation of their strategies after a real change. . JEL classification : G22, G34
