Abstract

[eng] The financial analyst's point of view on fair value . Fair value that will be used in two years by listed company, favours market value in balance sheet - if this information exists - or a utility value calculated by the firm. To justify fair value, accounting standards board explains it is requested by investors and financial analysts. But, these analysts clarify in this article that they sound very doubtful as to the fair value. It . risks confusing both balance sheet and income statement's lecture and favouring the first to the detriment of the second. Fair value risks so eroding the credibility of accounting and company in the opinion of investors. . . Classification JEL : M41
