Abstract

. Classification JEL : G21, G22, L2 [eng] « Limited Services or limited responsibilities ? » : the mutual financial sphere in France . This article surveys the mutual financial sphere in France. Its excellent profits deny any démutualisation. . Paradoxically, their traditional values did not prevent mutual companies from rushing to capital markets, for example to organise external growth by securities’ exchanges. The second part of this article deals with the necessity for the mutual sector to be engaged in a size race. The third and last part reviews such a transformation’s advantages and disadvantages. . JEL classifications : G21, G22, L2
