Abstract

[fre] Si nombre des questions économiques et sociales qui occupaient l’espace du débat sont désormais recentrées et consensuelles, les questions de société sont sur le devant de la scène : parmi elles l’environnement s’impose comme un enjeu majeur du débat politique. Principe de précaution et risques majeurs ; santé publique ; épidémiologie et sécurité alimentaire, biodiversité et manipulations génétiques ; pollutions, nuisances et accidents industriels ; sûreté nucléaire et déchets radioactifs, changements climatiques et énergies renouvelables... préoccupent au plus haut point l’opinion publique et font quotidiennement les gros titres des médias. Cet article revient ainsi sur l’évolution du concept de développement durable, que se soit du point de vue scientifique, idéologique, économique et géopolitique. Puis, l’auteur propose un « agenda » du développement durable. . Classification JEL : Q01 [eng] Sustainable development : the new ideology . Environment is now a major subject in the political and public debate. Precautionary principle and major risks ; health, epidemiology and food security ; biodiversity, genetic engineering ; industrial pollution and accidents ; nuclear security and radioactive waste, climatic change and renewable resources... worry public opinion. This article deals with the scientific, ideological, economic and geopolitical evolution of the sustainable development. . JEL classifications : Q01
