Abstract

[eng] The financial phenomenon and the financial markets in an historic perspective : from ancient societies to the creation of Paris stock market in 1724. We scrutinise the two millenaries preceding the official creation of stock exchanges to note that the market system(s) is not born in the XVIIIth century. We indicate in this paper that the financial fact, the subject or the financial phenomenon are deeply indistinguishable from the constitution of first civilisations where the economy was only resumed by an auto-subsistence. It appears that the debt mechanism, in its double dimension, technical and sacred, founded most of civilisations. By analysing those two millenaries, we indicate the circumstances of the creation of concepts as important as debt, funds, trade, market, interest rate, money changers etc.
