Abstract

[eng] Mainstream economics has become increasingly abstract over time. It is little concerned with what happens in the real economic system, and is dedicated to the analysis of choices (whatever the purpose of these choices). To the opposite, New Institutional Economics is concentrated on the main subject of economic analysis : the flows of goods and services. These flows are depending upon the institutions, that result themselves from complex evolutionary and interactive processes. The study of complex interrelated structures is the economists' research agenda for the coming years.
