Abstract

[eng] The existence of direct links between bank and commercial enterprises is considered as an important factor which explain the competitive performance of German and Japan companies. A strong bank industry relationship permits the company to have more financial flexibility and insures management stability, creating the environment necessary for long term projects. This article discusses the theoritical justifications for the existence and the general approach of banking relations in Germany and Japan. It also presents the strategies of banking industry in France and explain why the German and Japanese model is difficult to introduce.
