Abstract

[eng] How do technological changes affect the current slowing down of productivity gains? Pondering over the determining factors of the recent trends of productivity allows one to temper the extreme predictions concerning the consequences of microelectronics on productivity and employment.. An analysis of the interrelations linking technology, productivity and employment must necessarily consider the social context of technological change. This interrelation must be studied on a sectorial level.
