Abstract

[fre] Cet article vise à expliquer les différences observées dans les niveaux de développement des industries mécaniques dans les divers pays et en particulier, à préciser le rôle des services d'engineering. L'analyse fait ressortir deux types de phénomènes complémentaires: d'une part le développement des processus de production continus et par là de l'ingénierie et d'autre part le développement de 1'automation et de la déqualification du travail, accompagné du transfert du travail qualifié vers les industries mécaniques. [eng] This article tries to explain the differences in the levels of development of the mechanical industries in the various countries, and in particular to illustrate the role of the engineering services. The analysis shows two types of complementary phenomena: on the one hand the development of continuous production processes and as a consequence of engineering services and on the other hand the development of automation and of the lowering of skill levels together with the transfer of skilled labour towards the mechanical industries.
