Abstract

[eng] Abstract Napoleon used the scene of the Paris Opéra (the Imperial Academy of Music) to build his own legend during his life. For instance he ordered works of circumstance like the «Triomphe du mois de Mars» written by Dupaty and Kreutzer to celebrate the birth of the King of Rome in march 1811. This article analyses the story of this piece of propaganda from the birth to its reception, focusing on the very strong implication of the imperial power.
