Abstract

[eng] Abstract This thesis studies the relation between royal power and political elites of Lyon throughout the rule of the kings Henri IV and Louis XIII. If the classical historiography thinks this age is the destruction of towns' liberty, the case of Lyon incites to recapitulate this interpretation. Indeed, between 1594 and 1654, the history of the second city of the realm gives evidence of the political identity's vitality that invites to go into more details of the modern State 's construction.
