Abstract

[eng] Abstract The study of his system of representations allows a new approach of the world of Eighteenth-Century Parlement officers. The ideal of the perfect magistrat was always highly respected. The procureur général illustrates this fact, even though this ideal, reinterpreted by other magistrates, led to a severe criticism of absolute monarchy. The Gallican struggles progressively turned the King's servants into provisional representatives of the Nation, before they would themselves be driven away by the protest they had imprudently started.
