Abstract

[eng] Abstract Louis Wolo wskfs 1 857 translation from German into French of Wilhem Roscher's : « Principles of economics » opened a lively debate among French economists over the employment of the . historical method in political economy. This debate was rekindled by the celebrated « quarrel over methods » which took place in Germany in the 1880's. The author will study the extent to which these debates or controversies between partisans and adverseries of the historical school brought about, in France, a meeting between political economy and history.
