Abstract

[eng] Abstract At the end of the XlXth century, started a processus of multinationalisation of the «Sté Schneider », with three periods of investments abroad : 1) At the end of the XlXth, in the Spanish iron-mines and in the russian metallurgy. The two thirds of these investments were lost. 2) At the beginning of the XXth, in Morocco where Schneider formed around the « Cie Marocaine » a network of subcompanies and in South America where the losses of the « Bolivian » were compensated by important profits from the « Rosario ». 3) Before 1914, in the belgian collieries and in Russia where the group Schneider-B.U.P. formed around Poutilov a network of armament subcompanies. In 1917 the possible losses were amply compensated by the enormous russian profits ; the funds blocked in Russia amounted to 50 MF, but Schneider was to give up this war-treasure.
