Abstract

[eng] The precision of employment surveys - The " Employment " survey is considered a solid reference concerning the active population, unemployment, and rates of activity. It is, however, only a poll: the survey does not furnish any exact measurement, but simply estimations. Can they be trusted? How is it that certain results are indisputable while others are borderline cases of reliability? Do we know what alchemy is at work when more precise results are achieved through the use of secondary information? This article attempts to popularize practices that sometimes seem mysterious.
