Abstract

[eng] 1981 : Transitions within the Food Industries? by Alain AZOUVI For the farming and food industries, 1981 was characterized by two outstanding facts: a record trade surplus of 12.1 billion francs and a near stagnation of household consumption. Thus, it was the rise in exports which made possible the growth of production of 1.7 % as compared with 1980. Exports, then, seem essential to maintaining growth; however, the percentage of exports to countries of the EEC is diminishing in favor of non-EEC countries.
