Abstract

[eng] The declared salary and the « offered » salary - The INSEE has carried out a supplementary survey based on 20,000 individual salary statements taken from the annual declarations of salaries (DAS) of 1977. On the basis of the data taken directly from the DAS, 11.7 % of fulltime wage earners earned less than the SMIC (guaranteed monthly minimum wage). By correcting errors in declarations brought out by the supplementary survey, which focused primarily on low salaries, this percentage was reduced to 8.9 %. The yearly median net salary was corrected from 30,640 F o 31,287 F. The supplementary survey also makes it possible to detect periods of absenteeism and partial unemployment resulting in lower pay. It also make it possible to arrive at a distribution of the salaries « offered » by employers, that is, which correspond to a full year pay. From this point of view, there remain only 6.7 % of wage earners who make less than the SMIC, and the median salary would be 32,346 F. [fre] L'INSEE a mené, auprès des employeurs, une enquête complémentaire portant sur 20 000 bulletins individuels de salaires issus des déclarations annuelles (DAS) de 1977.
