Abstract

[eng] Households taxable income in 1970 and evolution since 1962 by Gaston BANDERIER The survey on households income in 1970 supplies the average taxable income according to usual social and demographic criteria (social and professional category and age of the head of the household, size of the household, region of residence, etc.). It also shows that the total income is formed by the combination of incomes proceeding from different origins (wages, old-age pensions, firms incomes, incomes paid on capital etc), especially with regard to unpaid workers. This last category has besides more scattered incomes than households whose head is a wage-earner. . The evolution which has been observed in the course of the period 1962 to 1970 characterizes itself by a decrease of average income gaps between the various categories of households and by a lesser dispersion of incomes within each category. With regard to taxation, it increased principally for wage-earners and unemployed persons.
