Abstract

[eng] As an integral part of the National Accounts, the Input-Output Table is the classical instrument for the analysis of phenomena affecting the whole of the productive sector. The article by Michel Dappe comments both on the methods and the results of a study of the effects of the devaluation of 8 August, 1969 on the level of producer and consumer prices. The enumeration of the basic assumptions and the criticism made of them show that while the role the Input-Output Table is irreplaceable in the process of formulating economic budgets, it merely affords a starting point and cannot be used on its own without reference to an overall economic model.
