Productivité du secteur touristique français : une comparaison interrégionale

Abstract

[eng] Following Luenberger (1996), Briec and Peypoch (2004 ) proposed an aggregate productivity index capable of measuring intertemporal productivity, and of characterizing variations in efficiency and technological shifts. This paper applies the aggregate productivity index to France‘s hotel industry. The 96 départements of metropolitan France are aggregated into regions, and their productivity in 2002 and 2003 is analyzed. The results highlight the importance of exogenous shocks on tourist frequentation. More specifically, the three regions that account for half of France‘s total tourist frequentation have the lowest productivity. [fre] En suivant l’approche de Luenberger (1996), Briec et Peypoch (2004) ont proposé un indice de productivité agrégé qui permet de mesurer la productivité entre deux périodes et de caractériser les variations d’efficacité ainsi que le shift technologique. Dans cet article, nous appliquons cet indice au secteur touristique hôtelier français. Les 96 départements de France métropolitaine sont agrégés au niveau de leurs régions et leurs productivités sont analysées entre 2002 et 2003. Les différents résultats mettent en évidence l’importance des chocs exogènes sur la fréquentation touristique. Plus précisément, il apparaît que les trois régions qui concentrent la moitié de la fréquentation touristique totale en France sont les moins productives.
