Abstract

[fre] Si, dans l'ensemble de la population des territoires d'outre-mer, l'élément non originaire a une faible importance, il s'est, depuis les dernières années, notablement accru. Profitant de l'amélioration des conditions de vie : habitat, hygiène, santé, circulation, enseignement, la population non autochtone dépasse 200.000 personnes en 1951. . L'Afrique Noire a été de beaucoup la principale bénéficiaire de cette expansion ultra-marine. Celle-ci, en majorité française, se caractérise par une prédominance d'adultes — du sexe masculin — célibataires — exerçant des activités tertiaires.
