Abstract

[fre] Le commerce extérieur joue un rôle relativement secondaire dans l'économie américaine, mais il tient une place importante dans les échanges mondiaux. Par sa masse il intéresse la plupart des pays du monde. Mais en outre, il se trouve être sensible aux fluctuations de la conjoncture américaine, qui influencent assez régulièrement le niveau des importations des États-Unis. Par le canal de ces dernières les vicissitudes économiques américaines sont susceptibles de retentir sur l'activité des pays partenaires, dans certaines conditions. Le passé récent offre à cet égard deux exemples de recessions de stocks américains dont les effets internationaux se sont trouvés être très différents, et dont l'examen est intéressant pour apprécier le degré de dépendance actuel des économies étrangères par rapport à l'économie américaine.
