Abstract

The article deals with the comparison of assumptions of austrian and mainstream economics school with a focus on their realism and consequences. The main attention is paid to differences in perception of the role and method of obtaining information. Assumptions of mainstream economics are based on the comparison identified as intentionally unrealistic, therefore, to fit mathematical models. The text also analysed the effects of mathematization economics, especially in the context of its use for prediction of economic development.
