Abstract

The 1942 textbook published by Epicarmo Corbino is the work of an independent scholar who scrutinizes empirically, according to their specific merits, the most important kinds of public intervention without caring about the conformity of his evaluations to the official positions. The main contents of the book are the following: 1. «Government, population and the social question»; 2. «Monetary and banking policy»; 3. «Trade policy»; 4. «Transportation policy and an outline of war economic policy».
