Tres casos de innovación institucional inducida

Abstract

La interpretación del cambio técnico e mstitucional como endógeno en lugar de exógeno al sistema económico es una tendencia relativamente nueva en el pensamiento económico. En un libro publicado a comienzos de los años 70, Yujiro Hayami y yo ampliamos y probamos la teoría del cambio tecnológico inducido a la luz de la historia del desarrollo agrícola en los Estados Unidos y en el Japbn (1). Demostramos que en ambos países el cambio tecnológico en la agricultura había sido inducido a lo largo de un camino eficiente, compatible con las dotaciones de recursos y los precios relativos de factores.
