Las migraciones en la economía campesina: el caso de Puno

Abstract

Desde hace varias décadas es un hecho bien establecido que el éxodo en los países subdesarrollados tiene como causa fundamental el estancamiento de la estructura agraria (Singer, 1974). En las zonas rurales del Ande, los factores de estancamiento resultan tanto de la expansión histórica del latifundio, co- mo de la incapacidad de los productores parcelarios para elevar la productivi- dad de sus recursos, lo que aunado a un reciente y violento proceso de creci- miento demográfico, se ha traducido en una mayor presión sobre recursos económicos pobres y escasos. Asrmismo, el carácter centralista de la econo- mía capitalista dependiente y su alta concentración, han incrementado las dis- paridades enire el campo y la urbe.
