Abstract

Published annually, examines how taxes and benefits redistribute income between households in the United KingdomThis article examines how taxes and benefits redistribute income between households in the United Kingdom. It shows average payments of taxes and receipts of benefits, for households in different parts of the income distribution. It also shows where different types of households and individuals are in the income distribution and looks at the changing levels of income inequality over time. The analysis is published annually and results are presented here for 2006/07.
