Abstract

The impact of Labour Force Survey and Annual Population Survey reweightingReweighted Labour Force Survey (LFS)and Annual Population Survey (APS)microdata were published by theOffi ce for National Statistics (ONS) inMay 2008. The underlying weightingmethodology and the statistical tool usedfor weighting the LFS were also changedfor the reweighting programme and forsubsequent LFS weighting (although notfor the APS, as this already used the newmethodology and tool).This article outlines the background tothe LFS and APS reweighting programme,briefl y describes the changes to theweighting tool and methodology in theLFS, and presents some results of theimpact of reweighting on populationestimates at unitary authority/localauthority district
