América Latina: la región que nunca se desarrollará

Abstract

Por supuesto, nunca es mucho tiempo. Y el desarrollo está lejos de ser un concepto firmemente establecido, bien definido. Por tanto, cuando designo a un conjunto de países como "los que nunca se desarrollarán" no intento, en realidad, hacer una profecía sino un ataque al paradigma o estructura mental que considera al desarrollo desde determinado punto de vista. Sin embargo, con respecto al futuro de los países de América Latina, puedo afirmar con absoluta seguridad que nunca se desarrollarán, en el sentido que hoy en día le damos a ese término.
