¿Una nueva división internacional del trabajo?

Abstract

Recientemente varios teóricos han llamado la atención sobre una "nueva división internacional del trabajo", en la que se trascendería la tradicional división del trabajo que implicaba las exportaciones de materias primas y las importaciones de bienes terminados por parte del Tercer Mundo. De acuerdo a esta nueva especialización, los países del Tercer Mundo se han industrializado para producir bienes manufacturados baratos intensivos en trabajo con el objeto de exportarlos a los países capitalistas centrales a cambio de bienes más avanzados intensivos en capital. Quienes proponen la idea de una nueva división del trabajo arguyen que la creciente industrialización del Tercer Mundo refleja la nueva racionalidad y lógica capitalista mundial.
