Abstract

Recientes discusiones sobre la relación entre las formas de producción capitalista y "pre-capitalista" en América Latina han enfocado su atención, particularmente, en la penetración de formas capitalistas en economías rurales atrasadas tales como las de la sierra peruana. Generalmente se reconoce que hay dos formas básicas bajo las cuales la penetración capitalista puede darse: primera, la integración de sectores pre-capitalistas en un mercado más amplio a través de relaciones de intercambio; y en segundo lugar, la propia transformación del sector pre-capitalista hacia mayores relaciones capitalistas de producción, grandes unidades de producción, mano de obra asalariada, inversiones en mejoras por una clase de empresarios capitalistas rurales.
