Some Reflections on Knowledge Management within NGOs

Abstract

The paper aims to draw conceptual definitions in an overview on the issue of knowledge management in NGOs. Motivation for knowledge management, environment, and main features of knowledge management in NGOs are exposed and annotated. NGOs are interested to be more efficient and effective in their effort to offer social value to their beneficiaries. Therefore, they are interested to adopt the knowledge management vision and practices The paper's assertions are based on the theoretical concepts of knowledge management and on the 20 years of author's experience in the civil sector in Romania.
