The Influence of Port Activity in the Cultural Life of Local CommunitiesAbstract:The relation between economy and culture has always been seen different in terms of time and space, in theory, by different categories of specialists. We consider that we have overcome a long time ago the conception according to which between economy and culture there is a traditional antagonism, especially based on the theory of value and, sometimes, on the attitude of indiference of certain economists/ economic thinking currents towards culture, and we are, today, capable to admit the interdependent relation between the two human activities. The mutual support that economy and culture can provide for themselves should be valued in the direction of local, regional and cross-border development, but in the same time, could be an important growth factor of social cohesion. To achieve this, we consider that it would be appropriate that this two areas to make the object of various interdisciplinary studies, theoretical and practical. We proposed that this paper to be a step in this direction
