Abstract

This study reflects some features of the financial support of the clergy and non-clergy personnel integrated in units of worship in Romania. In particular, we refer to the legal framework in which the Romanian state contributes to the remuneration of the clergy and non-clergy staff of the Romanian Orthodox Church, taking into account the regulations issued by the synodal decisions of strict implementation within the Romanian Patriarchate. The last part of the study is devoted to the particularities of the social mission or of the Church apostolate shock in the current socio-economic context. In conclusion, even if all religious denominations in Romania, without any discriminatory factors involved, are supported by local and public authorities, for the Romanian Orthodox Church, by administrating the funding sources, the Church promotes with its personnel and also with its institutions of religious assistance an effective activity intended towards the common good.
