Abstract

This document considers crypto currencies as a new form of economic asset that gains more and more popularity. They show elements of “money†and although are not recognized as official means of payment they can be used for selling and buying goods and services. As such, they could be considered as competitive to “fiat†money and can influence world economy and country’s national security. Alongside the positive aspects of the cryptocurrencies, they are a good foundation for illegal activities.
