Abstract

The significance of the problem of usability of web-based information systems grows up nowadays, as a result of the rapid development of the systems for å-commerce, å-learning, and especially the online systems for administrative services, developed on the national program “å-government”. The principles of user-centered design are presented in this paper. Some factors, properties and characteristics of the user interface, having strong influence on the usability of the information systems, are analyzed. The abilities of use of the language for visual object modeling UML (Unified Modeling Language) by the user-centered design are analyzed.
