Abstract

The article observes the features of professional training the teachers of foreign languages in the second half of the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth centuries; analyzes the factors, which influence the growth of professional skills, pedagogical culture and the conditions for perfecting knowledge and creativity. There are also given the statements of famous linguists, advanced teachers of foreign languages and public figures of the period under study about the the possible ways of improving professional skills of the foreign language teacher.DOI: 10.17323/1814-9545-2011-3-261-278
