Abstract

This paper is concerned with the potential of action-research as a strategy of explorative social research. Taking as an example the creation of statements of member’s promotion in co-operatives, we show that action-research can be of great value for application-oriented co-operative research. Due to the potential for organisational development inherent to statements of member’s promotion in co-operatives, such statements present an ideal framework for securing and further developing co-operative identity.
