Abstract

The WSI Report on Minimum Wages 2017 gives an overview of the current developments in minimum wages in 37 European and non-European countries. Drawing on the WSI Minimum Wage Database the report provides current data on the level and development of statutory minimum wages. In 2016 minimum wages grew even faster than in the previous years and reinforce the trend towards more dynamic minimum wage developments in Europe. As in many countries, the level of minimum wages is still rather low, more expansive minimum wage increases will continue to be on the political agenda.
