Formen und Ausmaß verstärkter Arbeitszeitflexibilisierung

Abstract

Der Beitrag untersucht extreme Formen der Arbeitszeitflexibilisierung und vergleicht, inwieweit sie sich in den Beschäftigungsstrukturen von der Normalarbeitszeit unterscheiden. Die empirische Analyse zeigt, dass die Normalarbeitszeit nur noch für eine Minderheit der Beschäftigten gilt. Extreme Formen der Arbeitszeitgestaltung, wie vor allem Dreischichtsysteme, extrem schwankende und überlange Arbeitszeiten, gewinnen an Bedeutung und überlagern sich teilweise. Eine Reformulierung der Normalarbeitszeit, die sich stärker an den praktizierten Formen der Arbeitszeitgestaltung orientiert, ohne dabei ihre traditionellen Schutzfunktionen aufzugeben, ist insofern bei der Neuausrichtung staatlicher und tariflicher Arbeitszeitpolitik überfällig.
